10 Handbags That Will Brighten Your Fall Look
Usually after the long summer season we yearn for darker hues, thicker fabrics, and closed toed shoes in our wardrobes right after we have had our fix of sandals, shorts and a lot of sun. But if you are into jewel tones and black like we are, then you know that the summer in Austin is full of color and print. Now that Fall has officially begun and we start to bring black, navy, olive and camel back into our closets, do not get into a Fall funk and forget bright colors! While we are obvious lovers of dark tones, we found 10 bags that will help brighten your fall look.
Here’s where we found our inspiration:
At Fall 2013 fashion week, designers like Chanel, Rag & Bone, Victoria Beckham, Prada and Trina Turk hinted at a brightly colored fall, incorporating cobalt, orange, pink, yellow and electric purple into their collections. *all runway photos via style.com

Although we could never abandon our favorite dark colors for Fall, we love the idea of juxtaposing radiant with dull. In fact as Rag & Bone showed us, jewel tones look optimal with a pop of a luminescent color like these olive, navy and deep purple looks paired with traces of cobalt blue, chartreuse, and magenta.

We took these hints from these designers and decided that the best way to incorporate them into your fall wardrobe was through your handbags.
If you are a lover of the Céline luggage tote, then these east-west bags will have you lusting for more totes. Louis Vuitton gives us a change to the classic brown print and introduces this loud yellow wonder. We not only love the bag, but the entire Fall campaign featuring this bad boy and Michelle Williams.

Michael Kors also jumped on the bright color train and this color blocked neon orange and black tote are another must have—imagine these totes with a black dress and neutral cardigan; can we say yes please?

Because Phillip Lim for Target sold out in a matter of 24 hours, we did not get the chance to get over our Phillip Lim obsession. This perfectly shaped 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel has the perfect leather to zipper ratio and size to pair with dark jeans and a bomber jacket.

The dynamic duo, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCullough of Proenza Schouler impress us yet another season with the very same bag that they introduced in the fall of 2008. This season, the PS1 can be found in these purple and mustard hues and we could not think of a better way to compliment a dark outfit this fall than with this staple bag.

We also think that Botkier’s shoulder bag in this bright pink is another staple bag of the season and we are feeling this bag paired with any shade of denim.

For a more casual look this neoprene tote from photographer Mario Testino for Mate and Dolce and Gabbana raffia crossbody bag make for the ideal day bag for a quick coffee run or a trip to the grocery store. The prints and floral designs are what we love the most because they can upgrade the most minimal monochromatic outfit.

These bright bags are not only set aside for the day time, but are in fact encouraged for night events. These bold clutches from Alexander McQueen, Diane Von Furstenburg and Kotur transform any winter dress, gown or pant suit into an illuminated fall look.

This fall, we do not suggest veering far away from dark hues or light hues, but rather combine the two together by interweaving the bright with the dull. Whether you love clutches, crossbody bags or hobos, these bold bags will spice up your fall gear.
